As of this week the sleek, stylish, and affordable Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra smartphone is now available for purchase in the United States.
You may recall our Sony Xperia XA1 review from last month. They are both great devices but of course not identical in specs. Some of the main differences between the XA1 and XA1 Ultra is that the Ultra variant has a bit larger screen at 6 inches compared to 5, 4GB of RAM instead of 3GB, a higher 1080p resolution, and a 23MP front camera compared to 8MP. The battery is a bit better in the XA1 Ultra as well but likely won’t make much of a difference in overall battery life in comparison due to it’s larger screen size. Oh, and of course the price tag is a bit higher for the Xperia XA1 Ultra but for the specs is still an unbeatable price compared to other top-selling smartphones with similar specs on the market.
You can purchase a factory unlocked G3226 version of the Xperia XA1 Ultra on Amazon, just be cautious as this “international no warranty” version does not support 4G in the United States. If you’re planning on using a U.S. based 4G network you’ll either want to purchase the device at Best Buy or if you’re not in a major rush perhaps wait to see if and when Amazon carries the version that is capable of supporting 4G networks in the United States. The G3223 model of the XA1 Ultra is currently on sale at Best Buy in the United States for $399.99 USD in black, white, gold, or pink.
Overall the Xperia XA1 Ultra is a fantastic device with great specs and sleek edge-to-edge design. It’s a high performing smartphone capable of ultra fast Internet speeds, rendering high definition graphics quickly, and with its large display and Octa-core processor is also great for gaming. Not to mention, it fits very comfortably in your hands.
For those of you residing in Canada, the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra is also available either through Videotron or Freedom Mobile.
