PlayBook OS 2.0 Delayed For Another 4 Months

Not long after David Smith, the BlackBerry PlayBook Senior VP at RIM, announced in a blog entry earlier today that the PlayBook OS 2.0 will in fact be further delayed at least until February of 2012 stock prices plummeted another 6% for the already struggling company. Setbacks like these are becoming a little too common for RIM as of late and a lot of investors are not the least bit happy.
BlackBerry PlayBook Gaining International Momentum

During the past several months there seems to have been more BlackBerry PlayBook bashing than the number of iPad and Android tablet sales combined. Perhaps it’s just in my nature to root for the underdog but as I stated in a previous article RIM’s legacy is far from over and I also mentioned they were in fact gaining headway and making big moves internationally. It seems common for people to hit others while they are down but realistically I believe despite everything BlackBerry will be here for several years to come.
4G BlackBerry PlayBook Cancelled by Sprint

Back in January Sprint announced it had plans to launch a 4G BlackBerry PlayBook at some point during the summer, but according to a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report today it appears those plans have come to a halt. Apparently the reason Sprint has chosen to cancel plans for a PlayBook model that comes embedded with 4G WiMAX radio is due to lack of demand for the tablet.
