A new software update has become available for Nintendo Switch owners that now enables you to perform saved data transfers as well as capture and share videos.

With the Nintendo Switch 4.0.0 system update, which is available to download right now via the internet, you’ll be able to easily transfer save game data to a different console and also share captured videos via social media networks including Facebook and Twitter.

Check out the following video below which explains how the new video capturing feature works with the latest Nintendo Switch software update.

Before sharing your recorded Nintendo Switch game clips the recent update also enables you to edit your videos. Keep in mind at this time the videos can only be a maximum of 30 seconds in length and is limited to certain games which include Splatoon 2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and ARMS.

As far as backing up your game data, unfortunately there’s not currently an option to do so via a microSD card or the cloud. At least there’s a way to transfer to another console now and perhaps those other options will become available at some point with a future update. Another thing to note is that once you transfer your game data to another Switch console you will lose that game data on the original console that it was transferred from.

You can read the following guide which walks you through step by step regarding how to transfer your game data from one Nintendo Switch console to another. Both console’s must have the latest system update version 4.0.0 installed in order for game data to be successfully transferred.
