Each day more deals are popping up for HP TouchPad cases, skins, sleeves and other accessories. Discount and bargain basement prices are all the rage right now. A lot of manufacturers are reporting sold out stock. The limited stock coupled with the back to school rush has triggered a sales frenzy and everyone is trying to get their hands on the best and cheapest TouchPad cases while quantities and supplies last.
The demise of the HP® TouchPad certainly came as a shock to most folks, but even more so to people in the tablet industry. Nevertheless, it’s interesting to see how the whole thing is playing out. There have been firesales by names like Staples, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy. In fact, a search of the Best Buy website reveals that both the 16GB and 32GB TouchPads are completely sold out online. It’s also doubtful whether anyone will find one in-store. Seems Amazon has also jumped into the fray by selling the 16GB TouchPad for $280.00 US dollars. While it’s not the $99.99 price that others have offered, it’s still a substantial price drop.
Most of you are aware that in order to wipe out all existing stock the HP TouchPad has recently gone on sale for $99 which really is a steal even considering the circumstances. This begs the question, why would a discontinued device that also runs webOS which is a tablet operating system that likely won’t see any future updates be flying off the shelves like this? Not to mention there’s a lot of good deals available right now on brand new TouchPad cases and other accessories are selling like crazy the past couple of days too.
We’ve all heard about the demise of webOS and that HP cancelled the TouchPad, that’s already old news and so yesterday, but have you seen Adolf Hitler’s reaction to this announcement yet? If not you’re in luck because a behind the scenes tipster (who chooses to remain anonymous for obvious reasons) caught Hitler’s reaction live on video. Easily one of the funniest Hitler reaction videos to date!
Well it was a good run, sort of, ok not really and it wasn’t a very long run either. HP made a shocking announcement that they have in fact decided to cancel production of all future webOS devices including the TouchPad, Veer and Pre series phones. They are now looking to offload or sell webOS to another company. In related news HP also mentioned that they plan to shed their entire PC business.
