If you own a Sony Xperia XA1 device you’ll no longer have the “Good night actions” feature once you’ve updated your smartphone to the Android Oreo operating system. Sony Mobile has officially confirmed this via a recent Twitter conversation.
The Good night actions, or Night Mode, feature is something Sony integrated into their Xperia XA1, XA1 Ultra, and XA1 Plus devices. It’s a useful feature that helps reduce the amount of blue light in order to make viewing your screen at night more comfortable and less straining on the eyes. This feature is accessed by going to “Settings > Assist > Xperia Actions > Good night“.
Personally I love having the Good night actions on my Sony Xperia XA1 smartphone and find it disappointing to lose such a great feature. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way.
So enjoy this feature while it lasts. Once your Xperia XA1 phone gets updated to Android Oreo it will be gone. They may not be as effective, but there are some apps available via Google Play that can help as a workaround when it comes to cutting down the amount of blue light on your device. Most of them simply apply an overlay that degrades the quality of what’s on your screen, but I suppose it’s better than nothing.
