Samsung Netherlands has officially announced their robust new Galaxy Tab Active 2 which is expected to hit the market in late November.




Although it’s a mid-range device, this rugged new tablet PC has a plethora of useful features. It’s aimed mainly towards businesses and is designed to withstand extreme working conditions. This durable new Android tablet is the perfect device for businesses throughout multiple different industries. With its high sensitivity mode it’s even easy to use while wearing gloves.

The Galaxy Tab Active 2 comes with a highly rugged body including military-standard MIL-STD-810 certification. It’s IP68 water and dust resistance adds even more protection. It can also survive drops from nearly 4 feet (1.2 meters to be exact). Surprisingly, with this Android tablet being so robust it’s actually quite thin and light.

Furthermore, this new slate comes with a fingerprint scanner built into the home button, Samsung Bixby (Home and Voice) as well as secure Face Detection for easy unlocking. It even has a removable battery and comes bundled with the popular S Pen. The removable battery can recharge other devices and peripherals that are attached.

Augmented Reality

Augmented reality, as we all know, has become quite popular. The Galaxy Tab Active 2 has AR functionality along with new gyroscope and geomagnetic sensors built into the device.

To make the device more diverse for various different workforce’s and add even more features and services, Samsung has partnered with several companies such as IBM Maximo, Gamber Johnson, Otterbox and ECOM Instruments just to name a few.

Other notable specs and features include a 8MP rear-camera, 5MP camera on the front, 4G connectivity, NFC, a barcode scanner and an 8-inch display with 1280×800 pixel resolution.

So you’re probably wondering how much this tablet is going to cost? Well depending on the model you choose you’re looking at about $500 to $600 and as mentioned above it should go on sale sometime next month.
