Comments Off on Rent Movies On Your Tablet With Revamped Android Market Android Apps

Now you’ll be able to purchase books and rent movies on your tablet running Android 2.2 or higher with Google’s restructured and updated Android Market. Movie rentals will start at $1.99 and the option to download your favorite flicks for offline viewing will also be available.

Google is steadily working to improve the market, making it both faster and easier to find apps and content which is suitable for you. Among the additional features they’ll be rolling out are favored apps chosen by their staff, editor’s choice apps and more top rated app charts. This will significantly speed up and simplify the process involved to find your favorite apps, games and more!

Regarding movie rentals, to get started you’ll be required to download and install the “Videos” app, and in case you’re wondering this app is absolutely free. Once you’ve installed this app you’ll have access to a wide variety of movies that you can instantly stream or download directly to your Android tablet and of course, ahem, Android phone as well. Check out the video below to get a sneak peak at the newly revamped Android Market.

Purchasing your favorite books from the new Android Market using your Android 2.2+ tablet pc is easier than ever too. What’s also great about this is that any books you buy or movies you rent will be linked to your Google account, meaning you’ll be able to access them at any given time from all of your devices.

If you’re a US citizen keep your eye out during the next few weeks for these changes and additions to take place. If you’re a fellow Canadian like me you’ll just have to wait a bit longer, but Google does promise to expand the availability of these new features in the near future. I know, why do us Canadians always get the good stuff last, after all, the phone was invented here way back in the day, shouldn’t we get first dibs?

There, now that my mini rant is over, time to move on. The present and future continue to look bright for the Android OS as it becomes more popular by the day. With that said, it’s only fitting that Google continues to improve the Android Market in order to keep up with such high demands. It looks like many great things are in store and it’s fair to assume that Google is prepping for even more cool stuff with the upcoming Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system which is expected to be released at some point in Q4 before the year is up.
