A lot of times Monday’s can be dreadful, but not this one because today the HP TouchPad 4G with HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access Plus) becomes available on Amazon for pre-order. This is great news for TouchPad tablet fans and you couldn’t ask for a better way to kick start the new week.
No specific date of availability was mentioned for the new $699.99 4G TouchPad, but Amazon states they’ll ship it to consumers as soon as it arrives. Chances are that will be sooner than later though.
Not only does this new version enable you to enjoy ultra fast Internet access, it also comes equipped with a faster processor. The original HP TouchPad which was launched back on July 1st and came equipped with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon dual-CPU and was Wi-Fi only. We shared all of the original HP TouchPad specs with you back in May before it was launched. The new beefed up 4G version now has a 1.5GHz processor and also comes pre-installed with the newest webOS 3.0.2 software.
Along with the most recent webOS 3.0.2 update, which was 38MB in size, comes plenty of improvements. This includes email, text assist, system security, web browser and photos just to name a few.
Just a heads up, 4G is fantastic and great to have, but depending on what you need your tablet PC for pricing could be a little steep. I would recommend that you take a very close look at AT&T’s 4G price plans and educate yourself on any possible hidden fees before making such a big investment. As wonderful as 4G is it doesn’t come cheap and you just don’t want to end up in a costly contract you can’t get out of.
