Comments Off on New Samsung Galaxy Tab Commercial A Huge Fail Samsung

Samsung is making headway in the world of tablet computers and they’re not afraid to show it, problem is who’s paying any attention? Did they shoot themselves in the foot with their latest commercial? Watch the video below and you be the judge.

This is not an article to bash Samsung but I have to admit, at least in my opinion, this wasn’t exactly the most well thought out commercial. I can’t believe creative (or not so creative in this case) marketers get paid top dollar to make such commercials. Samsung has a chance to compete against other tablet manufacturers with their new Honeycomb powered Galaxy Tab 10.1 and this is all they can come up with? I’m sorry but bragging about the fact that it uses Flash is not going to make their new tablet fly off store shelves like hotcakes.

First of all, don’t get me wrong or mistake me as some Apple fanboy, I was building Flash sites long before Adobe purchased Macromedia back in the day. I’m well aware of it’s capabilities and the reasons people enjoy using it. Whatever the case, like it or not, things change and that includes technology & software. I’m not knocking Flash technology, but there are better and more secure options nowadays. Just like Flash is slowly becoming a thing of the past, using Flash as a selling point over devices such as the iPad 2 will also go the way of the dinosaurs. It’s just a matter of time.

I could tear this commercial apart a million different ways. I mean seriously, who is going to use a tablet to get a cat out of a tree? Are you kidding me? At least be realistic. On a more positive note it was a cute cat though.

If anyone from Samsung reads this article, my advice to you is get more creative with your marketing campaigns and strategies for promoting your Galaxy Tab. With HTML5 and CSS3 readily available and more secure people are not as concerned about Flash as it may seem. The whole concept is fading just like your tablet will if you don’t start thinking more outside the box. This may sound harsh but I try to be realistic, not sell people some fantasy.
