LG announces the launch of their new lightweight LG G Pad IV 8.0 FHD LTE mid range Android tablet in their home market South Korea today.




This new tablet PC is a successor to the LG G Pad III 8.0 FHD (aka LG V522) which was announced and launched in May 2016. It’s scheduled to go on sale starting Tuesday, July 4th in South Korea exclusively at LG U Plus stores and at this time there’s no rumors or information regarding if or when the new device will become available in other regions.

What makes this new slate unique is that it weighs only 290 grams, which is less than an average can of pop. LG is using this as a main selling point for the LG G Pad IV.

It’s expected that the LG G Pad IV will go on sale for KRW 352,000, which is just under Rs. 20,000 or $400 CAD. At that price it makes for a good budget Android tablet.

For an additional KRW 82,000 you can also purchase the LG Plus Pack which consists of an external speaker, USB port, and battery pack, as well as a tablet PC case that doubles as a stand.

The LG G Pad IV comes equipped with a octa-core 1.4GHz CPU and Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset along with 2GB of RAM. It has an 8 inch full HD screen with a 1920×1200 pixel resolution and the device runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system.

It also packs 32GB of internal storage and with a microSD card you can enjoy up to 2TB of expandable memory. This new mobile device also weighs only 290 grams and measures in at 216.2 x 127 x 6.9 mm.

Furthermore, the LG G Pad IV has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, VoLTE, and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity along with a nano-SIM card slot. It also sports a 3000 mAh battery, and 5MP cameras on both the front and back of the device.
