Leaks have recently surfaced for the revamped and all new lightweight 13.3 inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air. It’s equipped with some notable upgrades and is a great investment for anyone looking to purchase an affordable mid range notebook.
The newest edition to the Xiaomi Mi line of notebooks follows the trend of ultralight devices weighing in at only 1.3kg. It’s not a huge difference in regards to weight compared to its predecessor which weighs 1.28kg, but still an improvement nonetheless.
Overall its design hasn’t changed much, but renders and leaked specs indicate some descent upgrades from the previous model. It’s now powered by the 7th gen Intel CPU which clocks in at 3.1 GHz. The previous model came with the 2.8GHz 6th generation Intel Core i5 6200u processor. It also sports a new NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU as well as a fingerprint scanner that is embedded in the top right corner of the trackpad. The upgraded GPU has nearly 3x better performance than the previous model which was only equipped with the slower GTX 940MX GPU.
Other specs include 8GB of memory, a Type-C fast charge supported 4-cell battery, USB-C connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, full-sized HDMI, and 2 USB Type-A ports.
Two variants of the new device will be available for sale by the Chinese OEM including one that has 128GB and another with 256GB of solid state storage. Once you’ve used any device with a solid state hard drive it’s hard to go back!
Xiaomi’s new Mi Notebook Air 13.3 also runs on the Windows 10 operating system.
If you’re looking for good value for your money, you may want to consider purchasing this affordable notebook which is expected to go on sale starting tomorrow (Monday, June 12). Its price point starts at $735 for the 128GB model which is impressive considering all the included upgrades. Or you can splurge and spend an extra $75 for the $809 256GB model.
