Not much is known yet about exact specifications of the upcoming Huawei MediaPad M5 series of tablets, however new 3D renders have recently surfaced that may help shed some light on what we can possibly expect.
Before getting started, it’s important to note that we don’t know with absolute certainty that these are in fact actual renders of the soon to be released MediaPad M5 devices. However, reputable sources including Gizmochina strongly suggest that these newly leaked MediaPad M5 renders are accurate. Of course we’re hoping that Huawei will reveal more about their new lineup of tablets at MWC 2018 which takes place near the end of next month in Barcelona.
The following grayscale renders suggest two MediaPad M5 tablet PC variants including a 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch model, both of which appear to be lacking a 3.5mm headphone jack. It’s expected that both models will come with Android 8.0 Oreo already pre-installed and similar to the OEM’s MediaPad M3 Lite devices which hit the market last year will have 4GB of RAM. Other likely specs for both variants of these future Android tablets include a fingerprint scanner, octa-core CPU, Kirin 960 chipset, 2,560 x 1,600 pixel touch screen, 2.5D glass display, and USB-C connectivity.
MediaPad M5 8.4-inch Model
Huawei’s 8.4″ MediaPad M5 tablet appears to be best suited for use in portrait mode, if the location of the front camera and home button are any indication that is. Speaker grille’s also appear to be located along both the top and bottom of the device.
MediaPad M5 10.1-inch Model
The 10.1″ MediaPad M5 has a slightly different front design. Based on the location of the home button, it’s apparent that this larger model is designed more specifically with landscape viewing in mind. This makes sense when it comes to media consumption on a larger mobile device. You’ll also notice a slight difference in the speaker grille compared to that of the 8.4-inch version.
